IT'S MIND BOGGLING
Jesus said in John 12:49-50, "For I have not spoken on My own [authority]; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."
It’s mind-boggling why we would not hear, believe, and do what God the Father had told us, but hear, believe, and do what the pagans had said. Is that not disturbing and mind-boggling?
Readers, do we know who God the Father is? He is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaiah, the God of Daniel, the God of Enoch, the God of Jacob, and the God of all the prophets of the Old and New Testaments, including the prophet Moses.
Who is the prophet Moses? He was the prophet to whom God the Father had given the Ten Commandments for them, Moses and his followers, to observe.
"I [am] the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. "You shall have no other gods before Me. "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless who takes His name in vain. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the LORD your God. [In it] you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who [is] within your gates. For [in] six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you. "You shall not murder. "You shall not commit adultery. "You shall not steal. "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. "You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that [is] your neighbor's." Exodus 20:2-17.
If the pagans have listened to God the Father, and follow the instructions that God gave to the prophet Moses, there would be no need for Jesus to die on the cross.
But we still have time. It’s not too late. All we have to do is do the will of God the Father.
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
Finally, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:29-30, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
Don’t think that what He said in Matthew 5:29-30 is a hyperbole. He said what His Father told Him to say. John 12:49. Don’t kid ourselves and say that God the Father is a “hyperbolic” God. Stop going to fortune tellers every week! Jesus is not interested in paying our debts. We reap what we sow.
God bless!
