THE TEST OF OBEDIENCE
I want to ask my readers a question. Why do you think Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of Eden? Some of you may say because they ate the fruits of a tree that God had told them not to eat. Others may say because they were disobedient to God. You are all correct. Adam and Eve lost eternal life because they were disobedient to God. They did not do the will of God. They did their own will, which was contrary to God’s will. They failed the test of obedience. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Jesus rejected these men/women of great faith because they were were living in sin. They were ripping off Social Security. They believe that Social Security has taken too much money from them. And that they can rip off Social Security under "grace".
Why? Because the apostle Paul has said, "For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under grace." Romans 6:14. Our bad intention has no dominion over us, because we are not under the law but under grace. That's what they believe. And so, they did not follow the law. What law, they ask? Any law! The apostle Paul says, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law but under grace.” Romans 6:14. You may commit adultery, you may rip off Social Security, you may do anything you like because you are not under the law but under "grace". Why do you think many people of great faith will be rejected in this type of scenario? Because they do not do the will of God. Millions or billions of souls perished during the big flood during Noah’s time. Why did God kill them all? Because they also did not do the will of God.
God destroyed them because of their BAD INTENTION. Genesis 6:5. Only Noah and a handful of his family members were saved. Why were they saved? Because they did what God had told them to do. Lucifer and millions or billions of his angels were thrown out of heaven. Why do you think they were kicked out from Heaven? They too did not do the will of God. From Adam and Eve to Lucifer to the people during Noah's time, and the people during our time will lose eternal life because we too did not do the will of God.
Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him." Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.” John 14:15,21-24. Jesus said that He will come to and make His home with us who love Him and keep His words. Jesus’ promises in John 14:15, 21-24 are good until He returns for the second time, and beyond. He will deliver His promises to every believer who loves Him and keep His commandments. If you say that according to the apostle Paul His promise in John 14:15, 21-24 is good only until Jesus was crucified, then both you and Paul have made Jesus a liar. In fact Paul wrote, “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God [is what matters].” 1 Corinthians 7:19.
And you better have a good defense to prove your false allegation against Jesus when He returns, that He is a liar. And rest assured that Paul will deny knowing anything about what you say or would say about him when he is asked to testify before God on you behalf.
Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one title will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:17-18.
What do you say? Did I hear you say that you will not keep His commandments because your preacher said that God’s commandments are dead or no longer valid after Jesus was crucified on the cross? I hope you know what you are doing. That’s all I will say to you for now. Finally, I want to add additional thoughts that I have about the prophet Noah. Some of my readers have said that the reason why only a few were saved during Noah's time was because the majority did not believe what Noah said. I believe that what the prophet Noah had taught his people during his time is similar, if not exactly the same, as what God had told the prophet Moses to teach the Israelites, and that was about the clean and unclean animals written in Genesis 7:2. And so, the prohibition to eat unclean food is not new during the time of the prophet Moses. Even during the time of Noah unclean/clean animals were already mentioned. In fact, I believe that the teachings of the Torah which God verbally gave to Moses to pass on to his people was also given to Noah. But they, the people, did not believe Noah and ignored him. That was the reason, I believe, why God gave the Ten Commandments to Moses written on stone tablets, so they will not ignore or forget! But what did the Christians do with His Commandments? They flushed them in the toilet. Brothers and Sisters, have we passed the test of obedience? If God saved only Noah and a handful of his family members because the millions who perished refused to listen to Noah, would God save anyone who refused to obey Jesus, left Him, and betrayed Him?
I want you to think about it, because salvation is not a right. Salvation is a privilege! Jesus said only those who endure till the end will be saved! Matthew 24:13. It will be a right only as long as we we obey Him!
