REPENTANCE
The message that Noah brought to his people thousands of years ago was on REPENTANCE. But none would listen. And many made fun of him and his message on repentance. God the Father finally decided to get rid of them all; no grace, and no mercy. Why? Because they refused to repent. God killed everyone and everything that He had created, all living beings, and none was saved except Noah and a handful of his family members, and some animals. The message that Jesus brought to the world was similar to Noah's message. His message was also on REPENTANCE. Jesus said this, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30. No one would listen to Him either. They think that Jesus has died to pay for their sins, so why would they repent? They made fun of Him also, and abolished all of God's words and commandments. They say that His words are "hyperbole". Why is repentance so hard to do? Repentance is difficult to do for many people because they refuse to admit that they are wrong. They think that Jesus was wrong, and that Paul was right. The other reason why repentance is difficult to do is because God did not immediately strike them death, as he did to Ananias and Sapphira, for disobeying God. Acts 5:1-11. Is that what we want to do, wait until God killed us before we repent? How then can we repent if we are already dead, how? Jesus could come tonight and kill everybody who refuses to repent, but that was not His plan. The Apostle Peter wrote, “The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9.
Yes indeed, He is long suffering, but His patience is limited! And we don't know when does His patience end? He knows our hearts. He knows our minds. He may leave us alone and not hurt us until He meets us on Judgment Day. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Going to church every week, or even every day, does not guarantee our salvation. Giving Bible studies to everyone in our neighborhood does not guarantee our salvation. What will guarantee our salvation is if we love Jesus and repent. When we love Jesus, and only when we love Jesus and repent, He will grant us mercy and eternal life. When we love Jesus we will be doing His will. When we love Jesus, we will be doing the will of the Father, and not our will. When we love Jesus, we repent daily. Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15.
I just pray and hope that one day we will come to our senses and realize that refusing to admit that we are wrong, and refusing to change or repent because of some evil motive in us is not in our best interest. Young people make a lot of mistakes when they are young. They are in the process of learning what the world is all about - excitement, money, and power.
The message that Jesus brought to the world was on REPENTANCE. That was the reason why He was crucified, and not because He wants to die to pay for our sins. The Jews did not like His message! The Christians did not like His message either. That's why the Christians abolished the Holy Spirit - His holy words.
Jesus' death on the cross has NO salvation power. Jesus may die for us thousands of times, but each day we refuse to repent, we are one day closer to HELL.
In summary, the Scripture says that if we don't repent we have no place in heaven. Repent from what? The apostle Paul wrote, “Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God [is what matters].” 1 Corinthians 7:19.Readers, have we kept the commandments of God or not? Have we done the will of God the Father or not? If we have not, that is what we have to do to repent! Why? God the Father said, by way of God the Son, "Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:44.He will come when we are not expecting Him to come.
