STANDARD OF HEAVEN
"Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48. Readers, do you know why Jesus wants us to be perfect? He wants us to be perfect because the standard of heaven is perfection, and nothing less than perfection! And who is the standard of perfection? God the Father is the standard of perfection. And Jesus wants us to be perfect as God the Father is, the standard of perfection. Can we be perfect? Yes we can, or otherwise He would not order us to be perfect. But first we must understand what He says when He said we shall be perfect. No one is perfect after Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan. That’s why Jesus said we shall be perfect. We are not perfect, but we shall be perfect. How can we, sinners, become perfect? By way of Jesus’ death on the cross? No, that’s a pile of old intestinal waste, and don’t believe what Satan says. We can become perfect only when we try and work to become perfect. We can become perfect only when we repent each day! Only through the work of repentance can we become perfect, no other way!
Going to church every Saturday, or every Sunday, or even every day cannot make us perfect. But doing the will of God the Father can make us perfect. What is His will? His will is that we repent each day so we can be perfect as God the Father is. The Apostle Peter said, “The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9. Yes, I believe what the Apostle Peter said. Why? Because God the Father sent Jesus to save the world. And the only way that we can be saved is through repentance, and not by way of Jesus’ death! Jesus can die 10,000 times, but if we do not repent, we will all go to hell! There is no saving power in Jesus’ death, none at all! When we repent, and do what He wants us to do for Him, that’s when grace will visit us! We meet Jesus half way, or three-quarter of the way in our effort to repent, and He will make up the difference, and make us perfect. Thank you Jesus!
We can become perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect only through repentance. God can make us perfect only if we repent.
God the Father said, by way of God the Son, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30. Do you know why He said these words? He wants us to repent. Jesus said, “Blessed [are] the pure in heart, For they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8. Do you know how humans can have pure hearts? Only through repentance. The death of Jesus plays no role in our salvation. If we don’t repent, Jesus can die 10,000 times, and we all will still end up in hell. Readers, please don’t be gullible. Don’t believe everything that you hear from the pulpits. Why? Because Satan will try to install his human agents, and talk from the pulpits to deceive us. Satan doesn't want us to repent, or be perfect. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Jesus rejected these men/women of great faith from entering heaven because they were not perfect. Why were they not perfect? They were not doing the will of God the Father. Do we know who God the Father is? In case you don't know, God the Father was the God who gave the Ten Commandments to Moses and his followers. Please read my article The Triad of Salvation.

Noah was an imperfect human being, just like you and me. But God made him perfect because he was obedient to God. And so was Job. He was a human being, just like you and me. But God made him perfect because he was obedient to God. Finally, if we want God to make us perfect, we must be obedient to God the Father, and do what He wants us to do for Him. Why is it critically important that we do what Jesus' Father tells us to do? Here is why. Jesus said, "For I have not spoken on My own [authority]; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. "And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak." John 12:49-50. His command (words) is ETERNAL LIFE.
