WHY IS THE LAW IMPORTANT?
Readers, do you know why Jesus said, "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. “Matthew 5:17.
In John 14:15 Jesus said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments.“ In Matthew 7:21 Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.“ Jesus wants us to keep His commandments so we can live with Him in heaven because we love Him. And when we do what He wants us to do, the law is fulfilled.
The Ten Commandments law is fulfilled when we do what He wants us to do, and not when Jesus died on the cross. No. The law is fulfilled when we complied with the requirements of the law.
We have various laws in the United States of America. When is the law fulfilled? Not when the lawmakers died. The law is fulfilled when we fully comply with the law. God’s moral laws do not have any expiration dates.
The Ten Commandments is a moral law. It describes our obligations toward God and our obligations toward each other.
The minimum that we must do is to comply with the law. I know that it is not easy to comply with the law but try and keep trying until we become perfect in His eyes. God will give us credit for doing our best. God knows what we are capable of doing. Ask Him to give us the strength to do His will. Keep on asking until we see results! That is what faith is all about.
Why is compliance with God's law so important? Why? Because it tells Him how obedient we are to Him. He needs to know that.
Compliance to His law is a measure of our obedience to God. God wants to have nothing to do with us if we are disobedient to Him. And He uses our compliance to His law to measure how obedient we are toward Him. God gives us plenty of years, in most cases, to show Him our obedience to Him. Do not waste the opportunity to do that.
He gives us the opportunity to show to God that we have faith in Him through our obedience to Him, by our work. When we fail in our work, do not quit trying. Move on, pray and ask God to help us, to give us the strength to do His will, and believe that help is on its way, coming soon. Remember, we are not the thief on the cross who will die by the end of the day. Faith is not enough. We must do more than faith. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” The only way that we can do the will of Jesus’ Father is when we are obedient to Him, when we do what He wants us to do in His law.
I believe the Ten Commandments are not all that God the Father wants us to do. The teachings of Jesus’ Father are supplemented by the teachings of Jesus Himself in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
Readers, writing articles like what I have been doing for years is not easy. Many churches are against me.
On the other hand I am encouraged when I see people in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and readers from other Arab countries are reading my blogs. God bless them. Please remember to pray for them too. They and others who have never heard of Jesus deserve a place to be in heaven too. Jesus is coming soon, much sooner.
The Lord’s Prayer
"In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
