GOD'S CONSTITUTION
Readers, do you know that what God gave to the Prophet Moses thousands of years ago on Mount Sinai was not only for the Israelites but also for us, the non-Israelites, aka the Gentiles, to keep? Why? Because it came from the same source, God the Father. The Ten Commandments is not a mosaic law intended for the Israelites only. It has nothing to do with a certain race or national origin. The law that says we cannot steal, lie, or commit adultery is for everyone, and not for the Jews only.
Unless we fully understand the logic why God gave us the Ten Commandments we would do well if we stay quiet.
Jesus was crucified for defending God’s constitution, and not to pay for our sin. Why? Because that was a lie to make money. Why did I say that it was a lie? Can’t you clearly see that it was a lie? Jesus said, “Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, [that] one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom comes. Your will be done On earth as [it is] in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Luke 11:1-4.
The Ten Commandments is relevant when God the Father first gave it to Moses. The Ten Commandments are still relevant to us today, Israelites and Gentiles or Christians. God is not going to give different versions of the Ten Commandments to Christians who live in different countries and speak different languages.
`I [am] the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. `I [am] the LORD your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. `You shall not make for yourself a carved image any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. `You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless who takes His name in vain. `Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the LORD your God. [In it] you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who [is] within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. And remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out from there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day. `Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may be well with you in the land which the LORD your God is giving you. `You shall not murder. `You shall not commit adultery. `You shall not steal. `You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. `You shall not covet your neighbor's wife; and you shall not desire your neighbor's house, his field, his male servant, his female servant, his ox, his donkey, or anything that [is] your neighbor's.'” Deuteronomy 5:6-21.
As you all can see, God’s constitution, the Ten Commandments have not changed for thousands of years except the Sabbath. Who changed the Sabbath to Sunday worship? See Who Changed the Day of Worship From Saturday to Sunday? Why?
God rested on the Sabbath not because He was tired of creating the world. He rested on the Sabbath because it is His holy day, and He wants us to keep that day holy also.
Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23.
This text tells me regardless of how much faith we have in Jesus, how many dozens of demons we have chased away, regardless of how much good work we have done for the poor and homeless people, but if we don’t do the will of Jesus’ Father, He will send us to hell! Do we know what the will of Jesus’ Father is without the Ten Commandments?
We can go to church every day, but unless we do the will of God the Father described in the Ten Commandments, we are wasting our time and money.
The scenario Jesus describes in Matthew 7:21-23 occurs when Jesus returns for the second time.
God bless.
