CAN THE LAW SAVE US?
The apostle Paul wrote that the law can’t save us. “Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin. Wrong! Knowing what is good and what is bad is not a sin. But by the deeds of the law, when we obey the law, we will be justified in His sight. What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." Romans 3:20,7:7. It is a sin when we disobey the law. Readers, there is no law, none, that can save us. Do we understand this simple logic? Obedience to the law, however, can save us. Traffic law on the streets and highways cannot save us. But obedience to the traffic law can definitely save us. And obedience to the gun laws can save us for sure. What happens to our logic? Do we not know what the word “deeds” mean? If we say we understand, then why do millions or billions of Christians ignore the law? Who told us to listen to Paul? Who told you to believe in Paul? The apostle James did not believe in Paul. I believe in the prophets. I believe in Jesus. And I believe in God the Father. I believe in the prophet Moses and other prophets of God. How about apostles? How about disciples? Look at Judas Iscariot.
Now I want to talk a little bit about the Ten Commandments. In the past I see the Ten Commandments as a set of laws. That was my biggest mistake. If I had seen the Ten Commandments as my personal mirror since I was young, I would now have very little regrets. I will live with my regrets until Jesus returns.
Carry the Ten Commandments mirror in our pocket, in our purse, in our briefcase. Look in the Ten Commandments mirror every day. Fix the blemishes. Dear readers, that is how we can become perfect as God the Father is perfect. Matthew 5:48. Thank you Jesus for being patient with me. Thank you God for sending Jesus to me. I love you both!
