Decades ago while I was still single and know nothing about the Bible, my uncle and I went to a remote town to see a well known fortune teller. When we got to his house, I saw a long line of people standing in line in front of the house waiting to see him, male, female, young and old. It’s like going to the movies. When I got into the house I was greeted by a skinny man sitting behind a typewriter. As I sat in front of him, he looked at me and started to type on a page of blank paper. When he was finished, he gave me the paper that he had typed and said, read. I gave him some money. My uncle also saw him, and then we left. I thought nothing about the paper that he gave me. But about a year later I saw that almost all of his predictions came true. Isn’t that amazing? A friend told me that the man who typed was typing voices he heard that talked to him about my future. Readers, do you know why God evicted Lucifer and millions of his angels from heaven, and evicted Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden? Because they did not meet the standards of heaven . And if we don’t meet the standards of heaven, we will never see heaven, or see the new earth, never ! Who sets the standards of heaven? Not our pastor, not our priest, not our Sunday school teacher, not our Sabbath school teacher, but YAHWEH or GOD THE FATHER . He created us and heaven. He sets the standards for us. He set the standard for His people, the Israelites, by way of the Ten Commandments. And Jesus gave us His standard of heaven described in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to supplement the Ten Commandments. We have both standards, one from Yahweh, and one from Jesus Christ. Jesus did not die to pay for our sins. Why? Because He did not! And that was not the reason why the Jews wanted to crucify Jesus. The Jewish leaders did not accuse Jesus before the Roman authorities for paying our sins. No, they did not. Ask the Jews why they wanted to stone/crucify Jesus. In John 10:32-33 Jesus said to the Jews, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy , because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” You see, if you live in America and claim to be God, and you mess up the road traffic, they put you in a mental hospital. But in the town where Jesus lived they will stone you to death. Blasphemy is a serious offense. And so is changing God’s commandments, such as changing the Ten Commandments. The Apostle Peter wrote, “ The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance ”. 2 Peter 3:9. Do we need to repent? How do we know that we need to repent? We have been observing “the law of Christ” that was invented by Paul, aka Saul of Tarsus. Is that not sufficient for our salvation?
