ABUSING THE LAW
The apostle Paul wrote, “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:14. Readers, how do we know that adultery is a sin if there is no law that says that adultery is a sin? How do we know that not keeping the Sabbath holy is a sin if there is no law that says that we must keep the Sabbath holy? How do we know that worshipping more than one god is a sin if there is no law that says, "You shall have no other gods before me." Exodus 20:3. We don't know.
"Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. Jesus rejected these men/women of great faith because they do not follow the law. They thought that they were under grace, but they never were! They were still under the dominion of the law!
Readers, I bet, and I am not a gambler, that the majority of Christians whom Jesus will reject on Judgment Day will be charged with practice lawlessness, and not practice faithlessness!
"Whoever violates the law commits sin, also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness" 1 John 3:4.
"The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, "and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 13:42. Grace is not part of the equation when we disobey/abuse the law!
To cremate a body in a 1,000 degrees Celsius heat kills life probably in less than a minute. But to kill a spirit or soul can take foreverI We will suffer pain for a long time. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth for a long time. You can believe me now, or you can believe me when you hear the words from Jesus when He comes. No grace to sinners who abuse and disobey the law, none, except when they repent! Sin will still have dominion over us until our body and soul disappear completely in hell.
