HIGYZAMA

HIGYZAMA (הַגזָמָה)

Readers, this morning I want to write about a topic of conversation that was very popular during Noah’s time. In Arabic it is stated as ghuluun, or غلو. What is this topic about? This topic is about the subject of repentance. God the Father, or Yahweh, has extensively talked about this subject through Noah to the people there, but everybody made fun of him and laughed. God the Son has also talked about this important subject and said, "If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast [it] from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.” Matthew 5:29-30. Nobody believes Him either. They all laugh. They say that what Jesus said is a bunch of hyperboles. The people during Noah’s time called God’s warnings hyperboles, and the Christians during our time called Jesus’ warning a hyperbole also. And Jesus said, "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, "and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Matthew 24:38-39. Do they know what the word hyperbole really means? No, I don’t think they know. Their “hyperbole” means death. They think that they have no more sins after Jesus has died. Why? Because they believe that Jesus has died to pay for their sins. They do not need to repent, so they thought. NO, they are wrongWe have no more sins if we can repent daily. Moreover, if Jesus has died to pay for our sins, who then is hell for? They are for Christians who refuse to repent and live in sin. They are for Christians who live in sin, as described in Matthew 7:21-23. "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. "Many will say to Me on that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' "And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'” Matthew 7:21-23. In short, if we are not doing the will of God the Father and live in sin, Jesus will send us to hell. Jesus sends these men/women of great faith to hell because they are not doing God’s willNo grace, no mercy! I hope my readers will believe what I have just said. If they don’t, no problem. Why? Because salvation is not for everyone. Salvation is only for those who believe and obey God!
